Series of Guest Teachers

Rhinebeck Pilates Presents a Series of Guest Teachers

We are having a great summer at Rhinebeck Pilates so far and hope that everyone else is too! As many of you know, Terianne Neden is expecting her third baby late September. We are so excited for her!

In anticipation of this, we have arranged for a series of guest teachers to come take her place for a few months while she is away from the studio. We are thrilled to welcome this amazing line-up of guest teachers to Rhinebeck Pilates!

Teachers will begin teaching this summer and continue to December. In addition to subbing for Terianne, they will also fill in for Elaine now and then. Please take a moment to learn more about them, and enjoy their classes!

She has been involved in dance and movement since the age of 3 when her mom placed her in ballet and tap to help correct pigeon-toed feet and scoliosis. In 2001 she began teaching pilates and was certified by Performing Arts Physical Therapy and The Pilates Studio of LA where she also worked as a physical therapy aid during her training.  She has since studied with various instructors, including Romana Kryzanowska while working at Windsor Pilates in West Hollywood.

Exploring play as an alternative to exercise led Stephanie to train in circus arts and establish a pilates space at Bumbershoot Aerial Arts in St. Louis. While there, she also taught pilates curriculum in the Dance Department at Washington University.

Having returned to LA, Stephanie spends her time making art and writing, while continuing to teach pilates, dance, and movement therapy.

Daniela Mazal is the owner of Old School Pilates in Los Angeles, CA. She has over a decade of experience teaching movement to people of all ages, abilities, and walks of life.

A forever student of the method, Daniela was originally certified by 2nd generation teacher, Ana Caban.  She has been privileged to continue her education over the years through regular lessons and trainings from Elder Jay Grimes, and second generation teachers Trish Garland, Sandy Shimoda, Zoe Hagler and Niedra Gabriel.

This year Daniela will progress her education to the next level through Vintage Pilates Masters Level program for teachers with Jay Grimes. She has also been featured in videos and interviews on Pilates Anytime and Pilatesology.

Pilates has taught Daniela that above all else, movement heals. The Pilates Method has helped her through injury and illness and provided her with a global community. It has also given her a platform to empower others to live happier, healthier lives through movement.

Virginia Brown from Pauling, New York

Book a session with Virginia on Fridays from Oct 4-Dec 27

Virginia has grown up in the Hudson Valley Region with a love for all of its outdoor splendors; riding horses, hiking, and dancing; all hobbies that she continues to enjoy. Virginia went on to work in the Telecommunications industry for many years and left to raise her two daughters, Dara and Keira.

While attending a tap class, she walked by a room filled with Pilates equipment and was consumed with curiosity. Virginia was asked by her soon to be mentor/instructor if she could help in any way? Immediately smitten, she enjoyed the focus, challenge and graceful movement of Pilates. Virginia marveled at the way back pain melted away as she became stronger. After studying faithfully for several years, Virginia spent a king’s ransom in gas and parking fees to pursue Romana’s Pilates Certification under Sari Mejia Santo in NYC.

Virginia has attended Romana’s Pilates workshops, given by Sari Mejia Santo, Cynthia Shipley, Anthony Rabara, and Michael Levy. Recently, she attended workshops given by Sean Gallagher and Elaine Ewing: Wringing out the Body, Historical Reformer and Cadillac, Pilates at the Pillow™ Spring 2019, The Pilates Developmental Sequence™, and The Lost Art of The Ped-o-Pul.

Virginia’s teaching philosophy is based upon her heart as a dedicated student, the discipline of a serious practitioner and the passion of a committed instructor.

Virginia currently works at Pilates Symmetry in Stamford, CT and out of her home studio. Before that, she taught in Erie, PA at LECOM Fitness and Wellness Center. She is thrilled to be a part of Rhinebeck Pilates as a visiting instructor.

Lisa Morey’s love of Pilates came as a natural extension of her passion and training as a classical ballet dancer. She is a certified classically trained Romana’s True Pilates instructor and owns Embody Pilates studio in historic Saratoga Springs, NY. Lisa, a graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, is also a newspaper copy editor.
