2:30-5:30pm The Lost Art of The Ped-o-Pul™ with Elaine Ewing*
This is the next in the series of the Natural Law lectures based on Joe’s observations, study and practice. Looking at how his methodology helps and facilitates the natural laws of the body. We will explore the relationships of the heart, arteries, veins, lungs specifically and their interconnections to the breath, health, other body functions and Joe’s system. Looking at the current science of the benefits of exercise to these natural laws and how Joe’s system, writings and work are supported in the research.
In this workshop we will practice and learn Joseph Pilates’ original exercises and sequences on archival reproductions of The Ped-o-Pul. We will study and practice Joe’s written descriptions for each exercise, photos or drawings of Joe demonstrating each exercise, the order he intended, breathing, a specific count, and his written descriptions about the apparatus itself.
The Lost Art of the Ped-o-Pul will be taught on replicas of Joe’s original Ped-o-Pul made by Pilates Designs, which includes the bike seat attachment, as well as other fascinating design features unique to Joe’s design. The workshop will include a historical presentation on the history of the Ped-o-Pul, a tutorial on how to use the archival Ped-o-Pul, as it is more complex than the standard Ped-o-Pul, along with the practice and study of Joe’s original exercises.
Archival Ped-o-Puls will be available for purchase at a 10% discount through Pilates Designs. Anyone interesting in owning one, please contact Pilates Designs for details and pricing. Attending this workshop with Elaine Ewing or watching the tutorial video on Pilatesology is a pre-requisite to purchase an Archival Ped-o-Pul.
Every participant will be able to purchase a copy of Joe’s Ped-O-Pul poster for $50.00
