Pilates teachers know that pilates works, but how many understand why and how pilates works? This lecture will deepen your knowledge and understanding of how pilates works and why students experience results with the method. Topics within the lecture include the science of the Developmental Sequence, stability and mobility, how muscle fiber types affect function, how the pilates systems train alignment, power, and control, how pilates addresses imbalances, and how pilates develops strength and flexibility at the same time.
After attending this workshop, attendees will feel confident to discuss how pilates works with other professionals of different modalities as well as address the questions of prospective or curious students.
