Our studio is fully equipped with Gratz pilates apparatus – which is well known as the only and best equipment made today to Joseph Pilates exact measurements and standards. Working out on Gratz equipment is an unparalleled experience in the practice of pilates and is vital for getting the most out of pilates and practicing the method as Joseph Pilates originally intended. Teacher and students love the vintage age of the equipment we use in the studio. This older style Gratz equipment is hard to find and coveted by pilates enthusiasts as the best equipment with the best feeling and substantial quality.
One of our most proud moments in the studio was in 2018 when we acquired new equipment – a Cadillac, reformers, a Guillotine, High chair, Barrels, mats, and additional apparatus – all original from Drago’s Gym in NYC, later known as True Pilates New York. It also appears from our research that the Cadillac we recently brought into the studio is the original Cadillac from Joseph Pilates original 8th avenue studio!
We were entrusted with this equipment to carry on the legacy and spirit that has always accompanied it, from Joe’s time, through Romana’s time, through True Pilates, and now at Rhinebeck Pilates. This is a task we take seriously and also have a lot of fun with! All are welcome to come work out and practice on this amazing, historical equipment.
